Anna Matchneva,
M.Ed., BCBA
Senior Behavior Analyst & Consultant
Director
Anna received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) and her Master of Education, specializing in autism and other developmental disabilities, from the University of British Columbia (UBC). She completed coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis and advanced training in Verbal Behavior taught by Dr. Vincent Carbone. Anna is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Anna was first introduced to the science and application of Applied Behavior Analysis nearly a decade ago when she began her career as a Behavior Interventionist working at Alaska Early Intervention Project under the supervision of Dr. Todd Risley.

Natasha Madhani,
M.S., BCBA
Jr. Behavior Analyst and Consultant
Natasha graduated with a Master of Science in Applied Behavioral Analysis from Simmons College in Boston in 2010 after which she moved back to Vancouver. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Simon Fraser University. Natasha is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Natasha was first introduced to the science of ABA in 2006. Since then, she has taken on the role of a behaviour interventionist working with children diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. In addition, Natasha gained experience working as an Autism Support Worker at a public school where her responsibilities included modifying classroom activities in the moment to provide opportunities for independent participation, collecting data, and facilitating peer interactions.

In 2010, Natasha joined the ‘1 Step Ahead’ team where she continues to expand her knowledge and apply what she has learned through her education and her many years of hands-on experience to children with special needs and their families. Natasha’s professional and research interests include early language acquisition and development of play skills in children with autism.

Marecel Cleto
Team Supervisor
Marecel was first introduced to the science of ABA in 2003. She began working with children as a behavior interventionist. Through the years, she has applied her skills working with a variety of different learners and has gained experience working in a variety of environments including home-based and centre-based programs for children with autism. Marecel takes an active part in assisting and facilitating social skills development groups.

Marecel is completing her Bachelor of Arts degree and continues to develop her skills by attending workshops and trainings. Marecel is a student member of the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI).

Jolenta Pazura
Team Supervisor
Jola has experience working with children in a variety of settings including preschools, home-based, and clinic-based programs. She received a bachelors degree from Simon Fraser University in 2009 and has completed the Disability and Applied Behaviour Analysis diploma program at Douglas College.

Jola has a strong interest in early childhood education and successful inclusion of children with autism in early development programs. She has completed intensive hands-on training and continues to attend conferences and workshops to further develop her skills in application of Applied Behavior Analysis.

Aneta Niziolek
Senior Behavior Interventionist
Aneta quickly discovered her passion for teaching children with autism and has been working as a Behaviour Interventionist since 2008. Aneta has gained experience working with a variety of learners on the spectrum. She is able to adapt her skills in different environments including preschools, home-based, and centre-based programs.

Aneta has completed autism-related coursework and continues her education in the field of ABA. She is a student member of the Association for Applied Behavior Analysis International (ABAI).

Joan Cauguiran
Senior Behavior Interventionist
Joan began her work as a behaviour interventionist in 2008 and gained experience working with children diagnosed with ASD and their families in clinical and home-based settings.

Joan received her Bachelor degree from the University of British Columbia and is currently completing the Disability and Applied Behaviour Analysis program at Douglas College.

Heather Carlos
Senior Behavior Interventionist
Heather has worked with children ever since high school, whether it was as a piano teacher, sports instructor, or behaviour interventionist.

In 2008, Heather received her Bachelor of Arts Degree, double-majoring in both Psychology and Speech Science. After graduation, she immediately began practising as a behaviour interventionist for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Heather then went on to complete the Disabilities and Applied Behaviour Analysis program at Douglas College. She has had experience working one-on-one with children in the school and in centre-based and home-based environments.

Currently, Heather is a senior behaviour interventionist and is working to obtain her Board Certified associate Behaviour Analyst certification in May 2012.

Lillian Liu
Senior Behavior Interventionist
Lillian has worked with children with autism and other developmental disabilities since 2003. She has experience implementing variety of teaching methods including Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT), Incidental Teaching (IT), Natural Environment Training (NET), and Direct Instruction (DI).

Lillian currently applies her skills in variety of setting and facilitates learning in home-based, clinic-base, and preschool environments.

Lillian received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Additionally, she completed the Disability and Applied Behavior Analysis diploma program at Douglas College. Lillian plans to pursue a graduate degree and attain a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification. She is a full member of the British Columbia Association for Behavior Analysis (BC-ABA) and a chapter adjunct member of the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI).
