At 1 Step Ahead Services Inc. we strive to provide a state-of-the-art programming that addresses all areas of a child's development including language, peer interaction, classroom and group learning, motor, academic, and self-help skills.

We rely on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and are guided by the analysis of Verbal Behavior (VB) to develop functional communication.

We use the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills ABLLS-R (Partington, 2006) as an evaluation and curriculum development tool.

Parents are central to an effective program. Collaboration with families and their active participation in a child's program is a key to success. We work together as a team to address problem behaviors that interfere with learning and to develop skills necessary for independence. At 1 Step Ahead we focus on parent education to enable families to progress from observers to active participants and co-interventionists in their child's program.

We set clear and measurable goals and use effective teaching techniques validated in the scientific literature to help our students build independence and rewarding relationships.
